Excess Sweating of Hands and Feet

anti-aging practitioners offer alternative treatment therapies for excessive sweating of the hands and feet. Wrinkle injections offer a more long term solution to excessive underarm, hands and feet sweating. Regular Iontophoresis treatments can be used successfully to treat excessive sweating of the hands and feet.

What is Hyperhidrosis?

Primary hyperhidrosis is a condition that causes abnormal sweating not related to exercise or resulting from another underlying condition. While it can affect different areas of the body, severe palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis (involving the hands or feet) can often cause social distress or occupational difficulties.

What is Iontophoresis?

Iontophoresis is a device which combines the use of a controlled and very safe galvanic current and water. This method offers a temporary relief to hyperhidrosis/excessive sweating of the hands and feet. The hands and/or feet are placed in a shallow bath of water while a mild current is applied for a brief period.

How does Iontophoresis work?

While the exact mechanism for the effects of Iontophoresis on hyperhidrosis remains uncertain, we do know that it is a relatively painless and effective method for reducing excess sweating.

What happens in an Iontophoresis treatment?

Typical treatments consist of placing the hands (and/or feet) into two water baths, each with a connection to the Galvanic Unit. Current is applied typically for 10-20 minutes per session, initially with 2-3 sessions per week followed by a maintenance program of treatments at 1 to 3 week intervals, depending upon your individual response to the treatment.

How does the NO SWEAT treatment work?

Our fully trained and experienced anti-aging practitioners can offer a long term solution to excessive underarm, hands and feet sweating. Our treatment involves a special technique using a series of very small injections of a proven and safe solution. This solution blocks the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands don’t receive the chemical signals, the severe sweating stops. The procedure only takes about 10 minutes.

Is the NO SWEAT treatment safe?

Worldwide, the solution for treating hyperhidrosis has been used since 1989 to treat a variety of conditions, including cerebral palsy in children and movement disorders (head, neck, shoulder and face). As with all medicines, the solution for the treatment of hyperhidrosis may cause some side effects. Generally any side effects experienced with the hyperhidrosis solution are temporary. The most common side effects are a perceived increase in sweating in areas other than the underarms, pain at the injection site, hot flushes, and transient arm weakness. You may be unsuitable for hyperhidrosis treatment if you have defective neuromuscular transmission disorders, have infections at the site of injection, are pregnant or lactating.

When will I see results?

You should see a reduction in underarm, hands and feet sweating within four weeks of the first treatment. Results have been shown to be highly effective for about seven months.
