Gabrielle Munro

Gabrielle completed her Bachelor of Nursing at La Trobe University in 1991 and commenced her career with Goulburn Valley Health in Shepparton, regional Victoria. Gabrielle settled into the fast pace of general surgical nursing and it wasn’t long when she started to expand her clinical skills and knowledge base by completing Stomal Therapy training at Mayfield in 1997 and a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Nursing at RMIT in 1998. Gabrielle embraced the transition from ward ANUM to Stomal Therapist/Wound Care Consultant with passion and enthusiasm.

In 2012 Gabrielle became the Wound Care Clinical Nurse Consultant for the West Hume Region in Victoria. In 2015, she completed a Diploma of Project Management and in 2018 she completed her Masters of Nursing – Nurse Practitioner at La Trobe University. As a Nurse Practitioner, Gabrielle aims to improve outcomes and timely access for wound clients in the region whilst encouraging clinicians to challenge their own practice. Gabrielle is currently finalising her research project of identifying the barriers and enablers of implementing the T.I.M.E framework into everyday wound care practice.

Gabrielle has published two peer reviewed articles on the topics of:

– Chronic Wounds and TIME
– Case Study: Diagnosis and management of Crohn’s disease

In late 2019, Gabrielle chose to expand her scope of practice to include cosmetic injectable. The aura and positivity that comes with the cosmetic injectable field is novel and refreshing from her other speciality fields. Gabrielle prides herself in her honesty and transparency and values the relationship she forms with her wonderful clientele. Whilst ageing is inevitable, providing options for client to achieve their realistic goals with natural results is her ideal. Gabrielle has her own business in Shepparton – GV Cosmetics.
