Vitamin C and Cigarettes

At our Restylane Star Wars themed Christmas in July luncheon this week, the lovely Andrew Christie shared with us some of his wealth of knowledge in the science of skin care. You may have heard that Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) is involved in collagen synthesis, functions as an anti-oxidant and Tyrosinase inhibitor and so is important in wound healing, preventing pigment production and anti-aging. Daily application is usually recommended in the morning, but did you know that one cigarette can deplete a days supply of Vitamin C?
