Stretch Marks Removal Melbourne

What is a Stretch Mark?

There are three layers to the skin: the epidermis [outer layer], dermis [middle layer] and subcutaneous [deepest layer]. Stretch marks develop in the middle layer or dermis. The dermis is stretched, damaged and becomes less elastic resulting in dark colored stretch marks which over time become pale and sunken lower than the skin line. Although stretch marks are unsightly they pose no health problem. Stretch marks are often the result of the rapid stretching of the skin associated with rapid growth (common in puberty) or weight gain (e.g. pregnancy, muscle building, or rapid gain of fat).

Treatment

At anti-aging we use the new FDA approved treatment for stretch marks, the 1540 Fraxel Laser and Radiofrequency, which delivers over 50% improvement after the treatment program. Treatment involves reducing the color, strengthening the collagen and developing new youthful collagen. Although the stretch marks will not disappear totally most clients receive over 50% improvement after the treatment program.

Program

Depending on the types of stretch marks: red, white, old or new and depending on the placement, anti-aging has several signature programs to significantly improve stretch marks. The program usually requires 3-5 treatments that are 4-6 weeks apart.

1540 fraxel

This laser reduces the color of stretch marks as it stimulates more collagen production. 10mm tip will deliver the high energy deep in older stretch marks. This will stimulate new younger collagen and tighten existing older collagen. 15mm tip will deliver the energy more superficially to help reduce pigmentation, as well as stimulating new younger collagen, tightening existing collagen.

XRF therapy

Radiofrequency therapy is a proven method of heating deep into the dermis without damage to the superficial layers. The radiofrequency heat tightens collagen and stimulates growth of new and younger collagen. This process increases the health and firmness of the skin in addition to reducing stretch marks and rejuvenating the surrounding skin.
